3. Material characteristics of flanged titanium ball valves
Titanium is a chemical element with the symbol Ti, the atomic number 22, and the relative atomic mass of 47.867. It is a transition metal element of the fourth group (titanium subgroup) of the fourth period in the periodic table. Titanium exists mainly in the form of rutile, perovskite, ilmenite, etc. in nature. Its metal element content ranks seventh in the earth’s crust, second only to aluminum, iron, calcium, potassium, sodium and magnesium.
Chemical composition: The main component of titanium is titanium, and it also contains impurity elements such as carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen.
The chemical composition of titanium is pure and mainly composed of titanium atoms. At high temperature, titanium sponge can be obtained by reducing titanium tetrachloride with magnesium, and then titanium ingots can be obtained by melting by arc method. The density of titanium is 4.506g/cm³, the melting point is 1668℃, and the boiling point is 3287℃. Its resistivity is 42×10⁻⁸Ω·m (20℃).
