ASTM A494 M35-1 Ball Valve,PN16,DN50,Flange End

Alloy M35-1 duplex   Ball Valve has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and useful resistance to pitting. It has a high yield strength that can be typically 25% – 50% greater than conventional austenitic stainless steel.

Floating ball, full bore or reduce bore.
ISO5211 mounting pad for option.
Blow-out proof stem design.
PTFE/RPTFE seat seal( Seat seal material could be decided by customer’s request or according to valve’s medium & temp. condition).
Anti-static design and API 607 Fire Safe
Design available Operation: Hand wheel, Worm wheel, Pneumatic actuator & Electric Actuator.

ASTM A494 M35-1 ball valve

Your specified valve is technically plausible, but several details must be confirmed before approving it for procurement.

1. Material and standards verification

Item

Verification

Body material

ASTM A494/A494M Grade M35-1 — nickel-copper alloy casting

Alloy family

Ni-Cu, commonly associated with Monel-type alloys

Typical chemistry

Nickel balance; copper 26–33%; iron max. 3.5%; carbon max. 0.35%

Material standard

ASTM A494/A494M, with the applicable edition specified in the order

Nominal size

DN50, approximately NPS 2

Pressure designation

PN16, nominally 16 bar

End connection

Flanged; flange standard and facing must be confirmed

ASTM identifies A494/A494M as the specification for nickel and nickel-alloy castings intended for corrosion-resistant service. M35-1 composition data are also published in foundry technical references.

2. Critical points to resolve

  • Pressure rating: PN16 alone does not prove that the completed valve is suitable for 16 bar at your operating temperature. Obtain the manufacturer’s pressure-temperature rating.

  • Flange compatibility: Confirm whether the flanges must comply with EN 1092-1 PN16, another standard, or a project-specific requirement. Check dimensions, facing, and drilling.

  • Wetted materials: Specify the body, ball, stem, and other pressure-containing or wetted parts separately. Do not assume all components are M35-1.

  • Seat and packing: Select PTFE, reinforced PTFE, or another suitable material according to fluid compatibility, temperature, and leakage requirements.

  • Testing and documentation: Require pressure-test reports, material certificates, and traceability appropriate to the project.

Important: Corrosion resistance is medium-specific. Before approving M35-1, confirm the actual fluid, concentration, temperature, and any contaminants. Material selection should be based on those conditions rather than the alloy name alone.
